Count me as one extremely happy camper that Rachel Maddeaux gets it:
John Barry should be the go-to guy for explaining flood protection. I dispute that we can't do 10,000 year protection, but he might be right that it'd be too expensive (we can't get them to do merely 100-year so far).
She did nail it- but they didn't talk about the oil companies dredging the swamps and increasing the erosion.. or the MRGO and it's destructive forces.. The oil companies should help foot the bill for the restoraton of the coast..Its not juts the chanelling of the river ..... its many things together....
